Notes: > Originally, Cut Collage Reassemble was going to be an Elias Alves style Brazilian arrasta-pé. As we were waiting for Rob Curto to finish his accordion part, the song took on a life of its own. It sounded more like a muted nightly news theme from the 70s or 80s. We thought that this was interesting, so we allowed the song to pull us in that direction. > The original demo for this song was written in 2009. The song was never finished. > The Pizzicato Five (Playboy & Playgirl), Stereolab, Andreas Dorau and the Go-Team all created interesting songs with horns. While theirs were mainly sampled from classic records, we liked the idea of using Mellotrons, Casios and really grubby field recordings. Instead of an in-your-face experience, we want the listener to be several stages removed from the rocket launch. You are not at the event. You are outside of the venue or you are hearing it through an old television set. > We all end up becoming a collage as we get older. We become a stack of glued, torn posters. As we age, the top poster becomes unglued and torn. The result is complex and new, revealing something that is a combination of the past and the present. >

It all came to me
It all came to me
The colors and the winding songs
and you’re dancing with your new dress on, new dress on, new dress on
It all came to me
It all came to me
This thing we made got chariot wings
and you’re dancing with your new dress on, new dress on, new dress on
Cut Collaged, Reassembled
Improbable we’d end up together
It all came to me
It all came to me
The surface unfolds for us to see
and you’re dancing with your new dress on, new dress on, new dress on
It all came to me
It all came to me
We’re painting over paintings
and you’re dancing with your new dress on, new dress on, new dress on
